    Abstract

Migration policy within the European Union remains in a state of ongoing development. The free movement of people within the European Union is a cornerstone of the EU's fundamental commitment to its citizens. This is given detailed expression within a developing legal and policy frameworks enshrined within the various EU Treaties.
Current policy approaches emphasise migrant integration that is mutual and rooted in practical strategies. Europe's faith communities continue to play a key role in integrating migrants and their contribution is explored in this paper, suggesting that European Christianity is a form of intercultural Christianity and therefore an important aspect of communal integration.
