This essay treats the current ecological crisis as a spiritual problem which must address questions of values, what constitutes the good life and what makes humans happy. It explores the ideas of an early Christian philosopher, Clement of Alexandria, who also addressed these questions, and draws upon his insights for contemporary Christians dealing with the issue of climate change and ecological crisis.
