    Abstract

Continuing the series "Pada Masa Itu..." on former academics at STFK Ledalero, this essay profiles Paul Sabon Nama, lecturer in scripture 1967-1977. Sabon was the first professionally trained scripture scholar to teach at Ledalero. His exegesis, his approach, and his fine use of the Indonesian language all impressed students at the time. In the lecture hall he kept his distance, yet outside he would regularly associate with students, and as a preacher was known to be prophetic. Sabon was one of the key figures to obtain government accreditation for Ledalero and thus recognition for the degree programme. After leaving Ledalero to marry, Sabon continued active in the biblical apostolate of the Ende Archdiocese.
