    Abstract

Deepak Chopra is a prolific writer working, generally speaking, from a Hindu / Vedantic perspective. Leonard Mlodinow is a scientist. The book is a debate between the experience of 'consciousness' and scientific 'observation and evidence'. Interestingly Mlodinow acknowledges the limitations of science and does allow for some sort of Transcendence or reality hidden from the purview of science. The protagonists pull no punches and have telling forms of speech. They remain at odds, unsurprisingly. The unseen judge in the debate is the reader.
