    This thesis investigates interpretive approaches that facilitate responsible readings. Part One explores the worlds behind the text. Part Two examines the worlds of, and in front of, the text. It offers a first-person reading of Luke 19.1-27, surveys pertinent schloarship, and proposes strategies to nurture cultures of transformative reading.
