Abstract

This article examines the library catalogue of the Benedictine nuns of Lippoldsberg (c. 1150), demonstrating the breadth of intellectual interests of these female readers and locating them within a wider milieu of erudite religious culture. A list of works identified in the catalogue is an appendix to the article.
