    Abstract

Ecclesiastes is not an easy book to read. It undertakes a riogorous and determined investigation in search of some rational explanation of why the world is the way it is. Qoheleth advises the reader to accept the pleasure of the present. This article examines the meaning of the celebrated phrase, 'let your garments always be white', as an invitation to a zestful and vigorous embrace of life.
