    Abstract

Thorwald Lorenzen has worked to offer a Baptist theology for a baptized community. Baptism is for him an 'evangelical sacrament, calling forth a common life of biblical faith as Christian ethics. This life is itself grounded in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Lorenzen's theology is grounded in biblically formed, practical and faithful engagement with the issues and challenges of his situation, both local and international, social and ecclesial.
