End-of-life issues are an area where ethics come into play most visibly in medical facilities. A wide range of medical, legal and ethical arguments regarding these issues has become the source of concern in the world, especially when the progress of medicine and biology over the last 50 years has dramatically altered the dying process. As a result, the people who are connected with health care ministry today have to face many challenges, especially those who deal with patients at their end stage of life. Moreover, it is also a challenge with far reaching implications for the Christian tradition. Can people who adhere faithfully to Christian values strive and survive in a society where the secularization of contemporary bioethics has been rapid and deep?

The thesis may hopefully contribute in a small part to helping Catholic health carers face the challenges in their profession as well as in faithfully living their faith.
