Abstract

With the Australian military engaged again in Iraq and in an overall context of accelerating ecological concern, this book explores intersections between war and ecology through the lenses of religion and theology. Ten scholars from Australia employ ecotheological and related perspectives to consider critically the intersections between war and ecology in relation to religious teachings. Adopting a transdisciplinary approach, the book considers more-than-human interests, taking an ecotheological approach to war and peace in the context of contemporary ecological destruction including anthropogenic (human-induced) climate change.
