This thesis is a study of the eschatological issues that were of fundamental concern to Anglo-Saxon writers. Exploring these issues enabled the writers to not only understand eschatological ideas but also to conceptualise the responsibility of and emphasise the need for every individual to prepare actively for Judgement Day.
