Abstract

This academic reflection on the papers and discussions of the sixth International Conference the International Association of Catholic Missiologists (IACM), meeting in Pattaya, Thailand, from 9 - 15 July 2017, with the theme, “Christian Witness in a Multi-Religious World”. hones in on key issues and their importance for mission. After placing the issues in a global setting, the paper sees the most crucial issue is that of listening. Listening "with the ears of the heart" in multi-religious contexts brings about mutual conversion. All proclamation is thus dialogical. The paper also focuses on issues of violence and gender equality, and concludes with the observation that the physically and mentally challenged community neighbouring the conference site was a living parable of mission in a multi-religious world.
