Abstract

Rabbinical exegesis shows no particular interest in terminology related to "image" and "likeness" in which the humans are created.
Nevertheless, here we would propose that in order to understand the rabbinic speculations about women and their nature, it is necessary to ask questions: Whether the first woman is created in the image and likeness of God? and how Eve's body changed after the expulsion from the Garden of Eden?
During these considerations, we will mobilize three commandments of the Rabbinic Judaism that are particularly related to women: laws of menstrual purity; candle lighting on Shabbat and holidays; and the separation of "challah" (leavened bread).
