Abstract

With its many unique linguistic and complex textual features, The Book of Esther posts in front of its translator an uneasy task. For that reason, during
the process of translation from Biblical Hebrew to Modern Serbian, we will try to propose a methodological frame that will focus on the language and on the text. In other words, in terms of the language, we will focus on some of the many traces of diachronic development of the Biblical Hebrew. In terms of the text, we will use the most recent scientific accomplishments of the textual criticism of the Bible. During the translation, we will apply a minimalistic approach related to the reconstruction of the text.
