- PublicationA Conversational Theology for a Conversational Church(American Theological Library Association, 2007-04) Rees, FrankAn organization called 'Conversation Cafe' seeks, through the use of the internet, to foster many forms of conversation as a medium of constructive social change. Their wesite asks: 'Tired of small talk? Try some big talk...In this paper I (the author) wish to propose that the church might be thought of as a community of conversation, not only for people to develop as more active participants in society, but also to engage in what I have termed the divine-human conversation. The church might be seen as that part of the world in which this conversation comes into focus and is intentionally embodied. In short, the church might be comething like the 'conversational cafe.'

- PublicationA dialogue between Haizi's poetry and the Gospel of Luke: Chinese "Homecoming" and the relationship with Jesus Christ(Brill, 2018) Yang, XiaoliIn A Dialogue between Haizi’s Poetry and the Gospel of Luke Xiaoli Yang offers a conversation between the Chinese soul-searching found in Haizi’s (1964–1989) poetry and the gospel of Jesus Christ through Luke’s testimony. It creates a unique contextual poetic lens that appreciates a generation of the Chinese homecoming journey through Haizi’s poetry, and explores its relationship with Jesus Christ. As the dialogical journey, it names four stages of homecoming—roots, vision, journey and arrival. By taking an interdisciplinary approach—literary study, inter-cultural dialogue and comparative theology, Xiaoli Yang convincingly demonstrates that the common language between the poet Haizi and the Lukan Jesus provides a crucial and rich source of data for an ongoing table conversation between culture and faith.

- PublicationA Disciple for Our Time: A Conversation(Union Theological Seminary, 2001-07) Curkpatrick, StephenQoheleth addresses issues of contemporary relevance. - PublicationA Pauline Complement to Laudato Sí,(Theological Studies Inc, for the Society of Jesus in the United States, 2016-06) Byrne, BrendanReferences in the Encyclical Laudato Si’ to the writings of Paul are brief and rare. Yet the creation stories of Genesis 1-3, which do feature prominently, receive a rich development in Paul’s theology, notably in his presentation of Adam as a negative foil to the redemptive work of Christ. This article argues that an appreciation of the Adamic theology emerging from passages such as Rom 5:12-21; Phil 2:6-11; 1 Cor 15:21-28 and particularly Rom 8:19-22, can fruitfully enlarge the range of Scripture to which the encyclical makes appeal.
- PublicationA Peculiar Economy(Sekolah Tinggi Teologia Jemaat Kristus Indonesia, 2019-12) Curkpatrick, StephenGrace represents a peculiar economy that seems antithetical to our unusual perceptions of economy. This strange economy of gift can influence and change how we engage familiar expressions of economy, such as reciprocation, contract, money and insurance. In the logic of Christian faith’s peculiar economy, reality is ultimately otherwise than variegated speculation about human life within economies of human desire, possession and economic calculations of social interaction. This logic is most apparent in how we value what we value.

- PublicationA Trinitarian Theology of Sanctification for the Wesleyan Tradition(Saint Andrew's Greek Orthodox Theological College, 2018) O'Brien, GlenThis paper suggests a revision of the Wesleyan doctrine of sanctification along Trinitarian lines. Such a revision can open up toward future iterations of the doctrine which overcome the tritheistic tendencies in its current formulation. The appropriation of social Trinitarianism by a number of theologians is identified as a way forward for the Wesleyan tradition to overcome its tendency to polarise toward either Pneumatological or Christological emphases in its doctrine of sanctification. A re-examination of the doctrine of the Trinity, both in its classical and contemporary forms, can help the Wesleyan theological tradition to reconstruct its theology of sanctification, understood not as the removal of any sub-stratum of depravity adhering to the soul, but as the restoration of the human person to the divine intention - full and unhindered love of God and neighbour.
