(Pontificia Universidad Cataolica del Perao, Fondo Editorial, 2018) Youssef, Youhanna; Youssef, Youhanna

This chapter explores this question in the context of grammatrical classification in Hebrew and Syriac lexicography.

The article treats of the veneration of Saint John the Baptist in Egypt. While for Lower Egypt an overview of known attestations is offered, for Upper Egypt an unpublished text relating to John the Baptist is provided which is illustrative of the local tradition. A detailed description of the manuscript is given, followed by a parallel Sahidic-Greek text. This is accompanied by an English translation and indications of necessary corrections to the Greek. The article concludes with reflections on the significance of emerging factors.

The doxologies did not attract attention of the scholarly world except for a few studies, especially the pioneering studies of Yassa ‘Abd al-Masih as well as the contribution of Evelyn-White for the history of the monastery of Saint Bishoy. I studied some doxologies such as the doxology of Elijah, doxology of the Seven Generals, Doxology of Kihak, Doxology of the Mark al-Antony, doxology Adam for the Matins, and others

Awad Bing (Austronesian, Bel Group, Papua New Guinea) speakers use various conjunctive devices to connect clauses and sentences. Interclausal relations are encoded by conjunctions or by clauses juxtaposed without connecting forms. Sentence connections are indicated by sentential adverbs and conjunctions containing realis and irrealis modal information. Tail-head linkage is indicated by both recapitulated clauses and a clausal pro-form.

Gabriel of Manfalût. History of the young man of Baghdad
    (2022) Youssef, Youhanna
In previous studies, W. Vicychl recorded some stories relating to Coptic folklore. The text edited hereafter is rare in its genre. It could not be classified as a homily or a miracle. The purpose of the text is hard to identify: perhaps the author wanted his audience to reject any doubt. It does not promote any pilgrimage centre through the intercession of the patron, as the name of the author and his diocese are men tioned in the first lines but after that, there is no mention of the city of Manfalût; the events took place either in Old Cairo or Bagdad, both of which are far from Manfalût. It could not be apocryphal as it is not related to any saint or scripture.
