Positive Psychology in the school - What does Lutheran theology have to say?
2013 Traeger, Stuart ; Worthing, Mark
With the positive psychology movement gaining momentum in Australia this paper will provide a theological framework for Lutheran schools to practically approach positive psychology in a way that enables them to remain authentically Lutheran. Mark and Stuart will provide a brief historical summary of the positive psychology movement and some examples of where and how it is currently being implemented in Australian Lutheran schools. Through the lens of Lutheran theological perspectives (e.g. theology of baptism, theology of the cross, Law and Gospel, simul justus et peccator) they will highlight those aspects of positive psychology which can be embraced, as well as the additional supplements Lutheran theology can bring to positive wellbeing in our schools. A must for those schools implementing or considering the implementation of positive psychology.
