A Postcolonial Study of Jesus’ Mission and the Matthean Community from the Context of Myanmar.

Abstract

The thesis first sets up the analogues between the environment of Matthew and contemporary Myanmar by engagement with postcolonial contexts and reading. It then engages with Matthews’ engagement with such a context engaging with a broad spectrum of Matthean scholarship as a check against an idiosyncratic or eisegetical reading of the text.
